Digistamps for Charity Fundraising Event: Doctors Without Borders - February 1-28

Guylou’s Inimitability (GI) and CDAC are proud to host the first Digistamps for Charity event to raise funds for a wonderful non-profit organization called Doctors Without Borders.

Guylou has created this unique and fun digi to help raise funds for this cause. GI will be donating 100% of the sale proceeds of Doctor Chuck between February 1-28, 2011 to DWB. Chuck aspires to become a doctor one day; he has a big heart to help the less fortunate and make a difference in this world... just like the courageous doctors who volunteer for Doctors Without Borders. You can find out more details about this awesome organization at the end of this message.

You can help raise funds for this Nobel Prize-winning organization by purchasing Doctor Chuck. Doctor Chuck is available at a price of $2.00. An honor wall on CDAC will be set up to thank all those who participate.

We thank you in advance for your participation and support. Let’s make a difference!

*************************************
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, natural disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than 60 countries.

Médecins Sans Frontières was created in 1971 by a small group of French doctors and journalists in the aftermath of the Biafra secession, who believed that all people have the right to medical care regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people outweigh respect for national borders.

On any one day, more than 27,000 individuals representing dozens of nationalities can be found providing assistance to people caught in crises around the world. They are doctors, nurses, logistics experts, administrators, epidemiologists, laboratory technicians, mental-health professionals, and others who work together in accordance with Médecins Sans Frontières’ guiding principles of humanitarian action and medical ethics.

The organization received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
You can find out more about their wonderful work at the Doctors Without Boards website.

Red Challenge

Welcome to another Guylou's Inimitability challenge. But before I give you all the details, let's find out who the winner of the "Anything Goes" challenge is. The winner is (drum roll please):

Theresa
Congratulations!!

Valentine is quickly coming and there is love in the air. And where there is love, there is Cupid. Every time I think of Cupid, I start singing that famous Sam Cooke's song of the same name:

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me

It's such a catchy song! Where Cupid is, love is. And where there is love, there is also the colour red. Our challenge this month is to have the colour red somewhere on the card.

To play, please follow our Challenge Policy listed in the left margin of this blog. The winner will be awarded a digistamp of her choice from Guylou's Inimitability Store and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge and will get another GI digistamp to make a card or project along the DT.

The inimitable Guylou's Inimitability Design Team got to play with the feature digistamp called "Cupid". This is not a traditional Cupid as you can see. She is more like this Amazon woman/angel who will not miss her target. Please take a moment to visit our designers' blogs by clicking on the cards. You will be redirected to the artist's blog and see more details about the cards.

Stamp Out

Digi artists love to create and offer their images to the Crafter Community. The cyber world has given a great opportunity to artists for selling their art at affordable prices and in a convenient way. As wonderful this cyber world can be, it has also given thieves new opportunities to perform their awful act of stealing.

Recently, a wonderful artist named Maurie J. Manning (a.k.a MO) of Mo's Digital Pencil was the victim of STAMP/ART Theft. Now, when she tracked down the thief she also noticed that their were several other stamp companies that were also being hijacked.

In response to this hideous attack on the Artist community, Mo has created a site and started a campaign to STAMP OUT ART THIEVES.

I encourage you to visit the site by clicking on the banner below and find out how you can help stop art thieves.

I you see someone selling my digistamps, please let me know and report that site to STAMP OUT. Please help us STAMP OUT ART THIEVES so we may continue to design and offer wonderful images.
